Do You Put Registry Cards In Wedding Invitations
Especially with more modern designs i do not believe it is terribly distasteful if added to the bottom of the enclosure card.
Do you put registry cards in wedding invitations. I would not recommend putting any reference to wedding registries on the actual invitation. If you won t put any registry information on the invitation it s more likely that people will give you cash gifts as they won t be sure what you would like as a gift. In addition to providing your guests with your wedding registry information your wedding website should include relevant details about your celebration such as your ceremony date and location and nearby hotels.
Putting your registry information on the invitation. Do not send your wedding website information out over social media. However stating it exclusively on the invitation would be offensive as it would give the message that you just want to make money rather than receiving something that can make you remember the sender.
Wedding save the dates and enclosure cards are also a great place to share your wedding website with guests. Wedding etiquette insists that you don t include your website on the invitation directly but if you do choose to share it on the formal invitation add the website to the bottom of the invitation. Or you can include an insert when you mail the formal wedding invitation notifying your guests that they can find more details online at your website.
If you have your heart set on including registry info on the invitations we recommend adding a link to your wedding website. This might give acquaintances co workers and others whom you are connected with the assumption that they will be invited to the wedding when in fact they won t be. We all know you shouldn t put your registry information on your invitation but that doesn t mean you should ignore it.
And definitely do not ask for cash in place of gifts. Situations for each wedding can vary so you may still feel that you want to provide the registry info to the wedding guests.
